Experienced twenty-year Educator, Empowerment Speaker, Advocate, Communicator, and Social Justice Change Agent possessing exemplar communication, presenting, analytical, problem-solving, supervision, researching, leadership, conflict resolution, advocacy, and computer skills. Highly knowledgeable in developing curricula, facilitating trainings, drafting policies, implementing policies, evaluating programs, analyzing data, scholarly researching, ensuring compliance, and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
As a twenty-year Educator, Dr. Shawania Marshall was nominated as the 2008-2009, Barbour County High School Teacher of the Year in year six. Within the first six years of teaching, Dr. Marshall helped 80% or more tenth grade students pass the Alabama High School Graduation Exam in Reading and in Language Arts, on their first attempt, and she also helped 80% or more of 10th grade students master the Alabama Direct Assessment of Writing.
After serving as an Instructional Leader, Student Support Team Coordinator, Academic Coordinator, Teacher, Department Chair, and District Leader, Dr. Marshall has helped countless novice and veteran educators improve their instructional practices and classroom management practices.
Dr. Marshall is also an experienced Qualitative Researcher, who has conducted extensive research in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, & Black Female Educational Leaders, which was the focus of her published dissertation.
As an Empowerment Speaker, Dr. Marshall created Unapologetically Empowered & Purposed in 2020, during the pandemic, in order to walk in her God given purpose with the vision of “Empowering Women Through Spirituality, Inspiration, and Support.”
As an Experienced Educator, Dr. Marshall established Prestige Educational Consultant Company (P.E.C.) in 2024, in order to utilize her gifts of serving as an educational leader to help her fellow educators, but also so that she could ensure that she continues to use her leadership skills and trainings to help bridge the achievement gap for those children, who especially come from underrepresented populations.
As an Educational Leader and Empowerment Founder, Dr. Marshall continues to lead by example, as a servant leader, positively & fiercely advocating, empowering, and transforming the lives of students, families, and communities by actively providing resources, tips, and words of encouragement through professional development trainings, speaking engagements, seminars, and volunteering through her various organizational affiliations.
